Suzanne Shaw

Suzanne Shaw

Suzanne started ballet lessons at the age of two and by the age of three was attending the Lupino and Freelance Dance School where she trained in all forms of dance. She also studied acting, and performed in her first show Annie at five years old. She appeared in countless television roles including an Esso advert, Holby City, and a BBC production, Elidor.

Her break came in 2001 when the ITV show Popstars launched a competition for contestants to become part of a newly formed pop band. Suzanne had just turned 18, and attended the auditions and successfully made it through several elimination rounds. She was chosen as one of the ten finalists and became one of the members of Hear'Say, having beaten 4,000 other hopefuls. Their debut single was the fastest selling non-charitable record ever in the UK, selling 1.3 million copies.

Since the band split in 2002, Suzanne has appeared in musical theatre and landed a role in the remake of the Summer Holiday musical in London's West End, and later in a UK tour of the show.

In February 2005, Suzanne took on the role of narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, in London’s West End. A leading role in Snow White followed, which was hailed as the UK's best pantomime, and then as Janet in The Rocky Horror Show in London’s West End and national theatre tour. She has also appeared in the reality television shows Have I Been Here Before? and Britain's Worst Celebrity Driver.

In 2008 Suzanne was crowned Dancing on Ice champion in TV’s prime-time ITV1 show after performing incredible technical footwork and solo skating skills as well as many lifts and tricks on the ice with her partner Matt Evers.

After her success on Dancing on Ice, Suzanne joined London’s West End cast of Chicago playing the role of Roxie Hart.

Suzanne is the face and body of the ‘Michelle for George’ underwear range at ASDA and for Christmas 2008 has her own interactive family DVD released through Universal Pictures – Suzanne Shaw’s Showtime Showdown, and her own fragrance ‘ICE’ in the shops.

On Christmas Day, Suzanne returned to the screens of ITV1 in the Dancing on Ice Christmas special where she once again scored a perfect ‘6’ across the board after impressing the judges with her routine.

2009: Suzanne toured in the Nationwide arena tour of Dancing on Ice, and throughout the summer in the touring theatre production of Vagina Monologues.  At Christmas she took on the role of Judy Haynes for the theatre production of White Christmas, based on the classic 1954 movie.
