Laura Hamilton
Laura Hamilton is currently presenting Wake Up World on Nick Jr, a show for which she also writes her own scripts and assistant produces. Prior to this she was the female face of Nickelodeon, presenting Nick Heads, Bratz Design Academy, ME: TV, Slime Across The UK and the UK Kids Choice Awards with Mcfly in 2007 and with Danni Minogue in 2008 for MTV.
Viewers will also recognize her from Staraoke on Cartoon Network and she has covered red carpet film premieres and press junkets both in the UK and US (where she holds a work visa). She is also a regular guest presenter on GMTV's Toonattik. Laura trained as a singer and dancer, skills that came to the fore as a member of CITV's Fun Song Factory. This was her first job as a presenter although Laura had already worked behind the scenes as an assistant floor manager and assistant director on programmes and films such Top Of The Tops, The Games, Big Brother's Little Brother and Harry Potter.
Laura is often described as an adrenaline junkie! She is passionate about cars and loves extreme sports. She has been a keen skier and snowboarder since the age of nine and has sky-dived from 14,000 ft. With a love for travel, she has seen many parts of the world including India, Cuba, Fiji, Iceland, East and West America, Dubai, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Australia. She equally at home in 5* hotels or with a backpack on her back and a guide book in her hand. Whichever continent she is on, it's the sense of adventure that drives her passion for travel. Laura gives a great deal of her time to several charities she supports. She is the patron of REACH The Association for Children with Upper Limb Deficiency, and an Ambassador for Wellchild.
While still a teenager, Laura began developing properties - combining a keen eye for interior design with a willingness to be hands-on. During a project you're bound to find Laura with her sleeves rolled up in amongst the brick dust! Now on her fifth renovation, Laura bought her first property at the age of 19, funding it entirely on her own.
